What are the different types of seizures?
Seizures can be divided into generalised seizures and partial (focal) seizures. Generalised seizures involve the whole brain. Partial or focal seizures are seizures that start from a restricted area of the brain. Partial seizures can be further divided into simple partial seizures and complex partial seizures. Simple seizures do not cause a loss of consciousness, whereas complex partial seizures cause an impairment of consciousness.
