My wisdom teeth keep getting infected, what should I do?

Wisdom teeth that are coming through will often have a flap of gum sitting over them until they fully come through. It is this gum flap that covers part of the tooth and traps food and plaque under it, which then causes a gum infection. It is important to be extra careful about thoroughly brushing around your wisdom teeth as they are coming through to avoid these infections. If the wisdom teeth are constantly getting infected because they don't have enough room to fit into your mouth, you may need to have them removed. Talk to your dentist about this, as frequent infections are not good for your health.
