How is autism spectrum disorder diagnosed?
Autism is diagnosed by either a psychiatrist, psychologist, pediatrician, speech pathologist or a combination of such specialists. Diagnosis is made based on clinical assessment. A child may be assessed according to their ability to speak, communicate, understand non-verbal expressions and gestures, and their intelligence.
