How is menopause diagnosed?

Menopause can often be diagnosed by your doctor after you have presented with the common signs and symptoms. In some cases, blood tests are done to check the levels of certain hormones including: follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), which increases as menopause occurs; estrogen, which decreases as menopause occurs, and; thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), which may be low due to hypothyroidism, which can mimic menopausal symptoms.
